One is enough

L ast night Kyle and I got home around 10 pm after a long day at work. Tired and sleepy, we sat on our couch to figure out what we wanted to eat that night. After 5 min or so, we decided on lemon pepper chicken and spaghetti. As I was walking over to the kitchen I was telling Kyle about my day when suddenly I froze in the middle of my sentence. My body turned stiff and my jaw dropped. My eyes bugged out, my heart rate increased and I could hear my heart thumping. There was a lump in my throat. I managed to frantically spit out, "Kyle, spider."  Now if you know me, I freak out over the tiniest spider so naturally Kyle didn't jump up from off the couch and rescue me. Instead he continued to check his email. The spider quickly crawled up the wall and my legs turned to noodles. Then," Kyle, HUGE spider!!!! It's moving!!!!" This caught his attention. He comes into the dining room and sees me pointing to where it is.  It had the longest leg span I had ever seen for a spider. In my head I'm thinking, "This is no no daddy long legs." Kyle gets closer to get a better look and this is what I hear, "It's a brown recluse." Next thing I know I'm on the couch with my legs up as I'm hugging them. I swear, I think I darted faster than ever. I don't even remember running to the couch. It's like I leaped there from the dining room.  I start telling Kyle to kill it but he tells me he wants to capture it in a tupperware and inspect it instead. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!! THIS THING CAN EAT YOU, LITERALLY!!!!!  Kyle begins to figure out the most tactful way to approach this flesh-eating spider and capture it. I continue to sit on the couch in my fetal position and I tell him, "It's gonna bite you cause you're aggravating it. We don't have money to go to the ER." Finally after 10 minutes, Kyle claims defeat, grabs a knife, and stabs it. Which then I guess the spider claimed defeat...anyways, I called the office right after and left a message saying that I would like the pest control guy to come out in the morning and spray our apartment. As you know, when there's one brown recluse, there are more. Well, at least thats what Kyle says. Maybe he's trying to scare me. I wouldn't be surprised. Either way, I called for the bug guy. One is enough for me. 

On a more pleasant note, I talked to my mom and she shared with me a cute story about my niece. Carlie was having a tantrum and was crying and screaming. My sister kept telling her to calm down and stop. Exasperated, my sister sent her to her room. There, Carlie was able to recollect her thoughts and calm down. After about 5 min, Carlie came out and said to my sister,"Mom. Carlie. Crying. Room." My sister replied, "Yes, Carlie." Shortly after, her little baby sister started crying. Now Jenna is only 3 weeks old, but to Carlie that makes no difference. She says, "Jenna. Room!" hahahahahaha. It made my day hearing this story :) It was so cool to see that she understood her mothers reasoning as to why she was sent to her room and funny to see her do the same thing to her baby sister. 

Life as we know it

It's been a month since we've been living in Nashville. I'm still adjusting to the change and find myself missing Idaho. But we've been having a good time :) We don't have a lot of time together as we thought we would cause Kyle now has to take one of the reps out everyday. His friends decided to go home after two days out and they were his ride, so since Kyle is the manager he has to take him. It's really lame cause we don't see each other all day until the night when he comes back to the office. His day starts at 9am and ends at 9pm. So with the little time that we have, we've managed to explore a few sites.

No matter where we go, we must ALWAYS take a picture of the football stadium :) If you can believe it, last summer this stadium was drowned by the river. Crazy huh?

Downtown Nashville. There were so many people playing the guitar or some kind of instrument for money. It was crazy how many there were. There were a ton of country bars and live bands playing. And did I mention the five boot and cowboy hat stores, haha. There was also a large group of teenagers who where homeless, probably runaways, asking for change. It was really sad, especially  since one could smell then from a few feet away. Oh, and I met Elvis :)

I call this building, "The Batman," only because it reminds me of Batman for some reason. Maybe its the points. They remind me of the points on his helmet. But in fact, it is the at&t building. This one below I call, "The Deceptive Rollercoaster." I really wish it was a real rollercoaster. That would be awesome!

We sat by the river and just enjoyed the view. There was this really awesome bridge that went over the river. In fact, when the flood occurred the river came up to the brim of the bridge. I still can't believe it!

  

This was our crazy adventure in the heart of Nashville. Here is the Hard Rock Cafe Restaurant. We really want to eat there sometime soon! Downtown Nashville, it was real. Thanks for the memories. Until next time :)

On Friday, we were blessed with the opportunity to attend the Temple. The Temple is really small, but beautiful.  It was a FANTASTIC experience!!!! I'm sooo glad that Kyle was able to break away from work so we could go. I love going to the Temple. There is always so much peace and happiness. It definitely makes your day better by a million times!!!! This is the 7th temple we have been too :) 

So we got kinda bored and decided to travel to Rome and see the Parthenon. It was really exciting and definitely a sight to see!!

Alright, who am I kidding. We didn't go to Rome, but we did see the Parthenon - that is a replica of it. It was still really exciting!!! The designs were so intricate and the structure is AMAZING!!!

This is one of the MANY MANY churches here in Nashville. The reason it graces my blog is due to its steeple. I have NEVER seen a steeple that size and length!

This Saturday, we leave for TWIN FALLS, IDAHO!!!!! We are beyond excited :D It'll be so nice to be with family and a familiar area. We call it our escape from the drama and work of Nashville. Kyles brother gets home from his mission tomorrow, so we are going to go to his homecoming talk and have a nice family vacation. It's been two years since the whole family was together, so it's going to be great. I've never met Dallin before because Kyle and I met a month after Dallin left. I'm pretty nervous, but excited at the same time. I'll post pictures and stories about our mini vaca! 

Baby Fish #2

It was Sunday, May 1, 2010 when my phone started ringing at 6:45(central time) in the morning. I stirred at first, thinking it was a dream. When reality set in I saw, through my blurry sleepy eyes, that my parents were calling. I was about to let it go to voicemail when I thought to myself, "It must be an emergency if they are calling me so early in the morning." With a sleepy voice I answered the phone. This is what I heard on the other line, " CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! YOU'RE AN AUNT FOR THE FOURTH TIME." Immediately, my sleepiness went away and I squealed. My sister had just had her baby 20 minutes ago. I was beyond excited!!!!!!!! My mom told me as much as she could as the nurse was assisting my sister, but before I knew it I was talking to Yvette. She was telling me that in the middle of the night she started experiencing stomach aches. She believed it was from the dinner they ate at the restaurant earlier that night. As her pains continued and got worse she knew something was wrong. She and Janson arrived at the hospital at 5 a.m (mountain time) to find out what was causing the pain. To her and Janson's surprise, she was 9 cm dilated! Immediately, she was taken into a room where the nurse broke her water and my sister started pushing. After 20 agonizing minutes of natural labor, baby Fish #2 was born. To my dismay, EVERYONE forgot their cameras! The only image I have of my new niece is the mental image of her descriptions. She is small and has a round little face. Her skin tone is of a dark complexion, but not as dark as my sister and me. She has a good amount of dark hair on her head, so she's not a bald baby. She has a good mixture of both her mother and her father. I can't wait to see what she really looks like!!! When I asked her what her name was, it was still undecided. Later on that afternoon, my sister sent me a text. She and Janson had decided on the name of Jenna. So welcome to the world Jenna Fish. You have been born into an amazing family, immediate and extended, that will love and care about you your whole life. You are going to be well taken care of! I already love you and I haven't even met you yet. Lots of love to you from your aunt Sari and uncle Kyle :) Can't wait to meet you in August!

Nashville

It's been a week since Kyle and I have been in Nashville. It was such a beautiful drive into Tennessee! We drove through the state of Wyoming, Colorado - where we spent a week with my family, Kansas, Missouri, part of Illinois and Kentucky. On our way we stopped at two church sites, the Independence visiting center and Liberty Jail. I could go on about the experiences but there's just not enough time. It was such an uplifting, amazing and inspiring experience!!! Totally worth the extra day. We also went to the arch in St. Louis which was really cool. We avoided two tornados on our way to Nashville and barley made it in time to check into our apartment. 

When we walked into our apartment for the next four months we got pretty excited. It's a really nice apartment, which we thankfully don't have to pay rent on! It has a huge walk-in closet, a big bedroom, long bathroom countertop and tiled bathroom, spacious living room, a dining room and a kitchen that was missing two burners ha.  We got excited about our summer experience and all the adventures we would have. That excitement soon ended when we realized how alone we felt in the empty apartment with no one and nothing familiar around. We found ourselves wishing we were back in Rexburg, a place were our life was established and made sense. A place were we had friends and a familiar town. We realized that wasn't possible so we had to deal with the change. As we tried to overcome this emptiness over the next day the words of a dear sister missionary at the Independence visiting center came to my mind, "As you guys start this new chapter of your life remember that you have the gospel and you have each other. And that's all you need." Those simple words were the help that got us through this bump. Those words brought comfort, truth and happiness. Soon after we started feeling better, especially after having gone to our branch on Sunday. Yup, a branch. It's not big enough to be a ward. There are about 50 people tops and no youth. There are about nine kids that make up the primary and out of those nine, half of them come from one family haha. Everybody is super friendly and welcoming, they even fed us lunch :) That helped so much in settling in and not feeling so empty. It's so great that no matter where you go in the world, you can always count on a ward family, or branch in our case. That's the only thing that doesn't change :)

    

On monday we finally got situated with our furniture which meant no more sleeping and eating on the floor. The furniture we're renting came and it's really nice too. The couches are microsuede and the bed is new and sooooo comfy. It's like a giant pillow! I feel pretty spoiled compared to rexburg haha. We went to goodwill to buy a t.v. so we can play wii and watch movies. We found a 32 inch box t.v, the ones before flat screen, and paid $20 dollars for it. It works like new :)  My parents gave us a clear play as an early birthday gift before we left so every night we've been watching movies on it and it's so nice to not worry about hearing the f-bomb or watching uncomfortable scenes. We love it! Thank you Mami and Papi :) On Tuesday Kyle started working after he passed the state test to sell and I started my training. It has been really great! Kyle has sold about seven this week, and thats not including todays sales :) My job is pretty awesome. I work from 4-9:30 in the office. I take calls and schedule the appointments. To fill in the gaps in between calls I do my homework, watch movies, surf the net, and play darts. So I guess I could say I'm getting paid for going to school and having fun, yes! This job is so chill, I love it. Kyle doesn't have to go to work until about three so we have a lot of time together which is really nice :D  The weather has been sunny and warm, which is something we have been neglected from after living in Rexburg for so long. Lets not forget the occasional thunderstorm strong enough to produce a tornado, we've had a few of those. Overall this week has been pretty exciting :) It's had its ups and downs but that is to be expected with change. We're excited to go to country concerts and explore the city of Nashville. It's gonna be awesome! We're gonna make the most of this summer.

On Easter Sunday after church, Kyle and I decided to go down to the Lake.

It was sooo pretty here. The lake was HUGE!! My camera couldn't even 

capture half of it. There were sail boats which was pretty neat cause 

that was the first time ever to see a sail boat :)

Two years ago on April 29, 2009 I was in Rexburg, Idaho when my

mom called me to tell me my sister went into labor. I was really sad 

that I couldn't be there to be a part of the incredible experience and stand

by my sister :( A few hours later my brother sent me a picture of my new

perfect niece, Carly Fish. She is such a delight and sooo much fun. Kyle

and I LOVE playing with her. She is so smart and had the most adorable and

contagious laugh and smile. I miss her so much.
